CONDITIONING ROOM CONTROL SYSTEM

Efficiently Maintain Humidity Levels (EMC)

The Lignomat Conditioning Room or Climate Controller is expertly designed to regulate and maintain ideal conditions in lumber and wood product storage facilities. Its primary function is to control humidity within a room, warehouse, or any enclosed space by adjusting ambient temperature. Humidity and temperature are measured using combination EMC & Temperature Sensors. Each room accommodates one to four such sensor stations. They are wireless and can be placed in optimal locations for maximum benefit. Click here to learn more about our wireless sensors for precise control and flexibility.

The Lignomat Conditioning Room can be configured as either a single-zone or multi-zone system, allowing it to adjust its humidity and temperature to meet the specific requirements of various wood species to maintain their quality and prevent defects. By offering this flexibility, our Conditioning Room allows for customized control of different wood types within a single unit, saving you the cost of investing in multiple conditioning rooms and improving overall efficiency.

Why Do You Need A Contioning Room?
High-quality conditioning improves drying efficiency and results in lumber that performs better in end-use applications, with improved stability and durability. Whether processing small batches or large volumes, Lignomat Conditioning Room delivers reliable and consistent results. A conditioning room can be used both before and after kiln drying, depending on the specific needs of the wood processing workflow.

Before Kiln Drying: Wood may be placed in a conditioning room to stabilize moisture content and ensure it is evenly distributed before the drying process begins. This pre-conditioning can help the kiln drying be more uniform and efficient, reducing stress on the wood during drying.

After Kiln Drying: The conditioning process is commonly used after kiln drying to relieve internal stresses that developed during drying and to ensure that the wood reaches the desired EMC, which is critical for preventing defects like warping or cracking once the wood is in use. Even if your kiln schedule includes a conditioning phase, as Lignomat does, a separate conditioning room still offers distinct advantages. It achieves the final moisture content and stabilizes the wood for its end use or storage. For long-term storage, it maintains ideal humidity and temperature, protecting wood from environmental fluctuations and preventing re-absorption of moisture, which can lead to defects such as warping or cracking. Additionally, it reduces the need for costly re-drying, preserving product quality and saving operational costs over time.
